What is Spinal Decompression Therapy?

Spinal decompression is a non-invasive therapy that uses motorized traction to gently stretch the spine with the goal of relieving neck pain, back pain, and/or leg pain. This gentle, intermittent stretching changes the force and position of the spine which takes the pressure off the spinal discs, the gel-like cushions between the bones in your spine. This change can make bulging or herniate disks retract, which takes pressure off of nerves and other structures in your spine. This, in turn, helps promote movement of water, oxygen, and nutrient-filled fluids into the discs so they can heal.

Spinal decompression can be used to treat bulging or herniated discs, injured spinal nerve roots, and back or neck pain.
